This concept was developed to be both COVID- and recession-resilient, offering genuine character and appeal. Formerly known as GT’s Hotel, the venue has undergone a creative transformation into an authentic Irish pub. Peter Jay Design Associates—renowned Irish pub designers and architects—were commissioned to convert the former Thai bar, delivering a truly authentic Irish pub experience.

The building has a longstanding association with Irish culture, having served as the home of the INA in Australia since 1955. As such, it is fitting that an Irish pub now occupies the ground and first floors of this historic building.

Despite the challenges of a tight budget, stringent compliance requirements, and managing construction on an aging building, Peter Jay Design Associates successfully completed a unique Irish pub. The venue features a shop within the pub, a snug, multiple private and COVID-safe seating areas, and one of Sydney’s tallest back bar displays. The result is a truly exceptional Irish pub.
