Royal Hotel Ryde Interior

The Ryde Royal Hotel has undergone an extensive renovation led by Peter Jay Design Associates, a distinguished firm specialising in pub and hotel design.

Originally constructed in 1927 as Keogh’s Royal Hotel, the property’s transformation included comprehensive structural remediation and awning restoration, as well as façade remodelling. Gaming and TAB areas were relocated to feature new open-air access, and the gaming room now consistently ranks among the top 150 in its category.

Additional upgrades encompassed a full refurbishment of the bistro and bar areas, highlighted by the creation of an authentic Irish Pub. The interior fit-out, manufactured and imported from Ireland, features genuine bric-a-brac, specialty lighting, aged paint finishes, and other signature elements synonymous with traditional Irish pubs. Modern enhancements, such as a state-of-the-art all-weather widescreen TV and custom-imported Irish outdoor furniture, complement the weatherproof sails in the alfresco areas.

The first-floor hotel accommodation was reopened to the public following a comprehensive redesign and renovation, which included substantial upgrades to air conditioning and fire safety systems, as well as the addition of new in-room entertainment and FF&E. Modifications to previously underutilised spaces were strategically addressed during the initial design phase, resulting in the addition of new guest rooms. These improvements have generated additional revenue streams and enhanced overall hotel performance.
